Well I have successfully adjust my trunk so that it fully opens with the push of the switch. I adjusted the springs back as far as they would go (a real *****, let me tell you), and then lubed the peice that swings the trunk open (thanks Guilio).
Now I realized, what is the point of doing all that if i have to go back and open the trunk anyway!? GEESH! Anyway, how difficult is it to add a trunk release, and how involved is it? Can I have some place do it? THanks! |
David:
I remember street rod people used to add remote trunk, hood, and door releases back in the 50's and 60's using wired in solenoids - it should be do-able. Here is a link or two. http://www.thepontiactransampage.com/trunk.html http://www.vehicle-security.com/trunkkit.htm Maybe a car alarm shop could do the work as well. Thanks John!
I will probably contact Circuit City and see if they can do it. It is an option on my alarm system. That would be nice if I could do it from my remote too! Thanks again. Has anyone else done this? Can you explain it to me? :) |
...did something like that, but already explained that before...
The newer MB trunklids (with remote opening) have vacuum controlled locks instead of the mechanic locks in the older Benzes. I have no experience with adding an electrical opener...you might want to contact Andy (a German fellow who removed his trunklock on his W201) through his website http://www.Car-Gallery.de greetingz, |
