Does anyone know how many 300CE's were built in 1988????
Good Monday Everyone!
Does anyone know how many 300CE's were built in 1988?? I have looked all over for production information, and have turned up nothing. When I called Mercedes Benz of N.A., they wouldn't release that information?!?!?! Thanks in Advance! |
it's a bit strange.... they used to have the numbers posted on their webstie..you had to dig deep to find them.
I can't remember the number for the life of me.... somewhere buried in my brain is the number 54,000 |
Where are the 300CE's at all? I haven't seen one in 4 months driving around Dallas - Fort Worth :)

300ce
I am going to sell my 300CE soon. I have this addiction to MB's. I buy them, restore them, sink a ton of money into them, and then sell them. On average, i loose $800- $1,000. Oh well, It's my hobby.
If there is one thing i hate is an MB with aftermarket rims/ crap on them. I strip it all off and return them back to thier glory..... |

92 300CE in Dallas
I love my 92 coupe .... it is at 89K and in excellent overall condition. I will be driving it to PA on my vacation this May 11th and expect to put about 3000 miles on it in total; have no concerns about its performance or endurance.
It is an amazing car, with a straight six engine at 10.0 compression; can get up close to 30MPG, and yet has excellent high speed "get up and go" between 50 and 100, with a top speed in the mid 130's or so. I just got a copy of the original window sticker from MBUSA, and found that it was first purchased in New York state when new. Then it came to Texas and I believe I am the third or fourth owner, but it was well taken care of. It probably has the greatest potential for value increase of all my present cars. (By the way, my 420SEL is for sale; a great car in prime condition.) |
Congratulations to your Coupe. If you happen to see on your way an almadine red one in DFW area, it might be me :) .
BTW if your car has 24 valves its top speed is near 150mph. I had once a 300CE-24 (4 doors) in Germany and reached 240kmh. Aah, the good old no-speed-limit time on German Autobahn. |
BlueEagle,
here is a pic of my car :) . Today I saw a black 300CE Convertible with golden trunk emblem on the Spring Creek Rd in Plano; nice ride. http://www.vsgardens.com/Pix/300CE/IMG_8517.JPG |
