w210 computer location

Is there a computer / computer related module under the passenger front seat or in the foot area behind the passenger seat close to where the battery is ?
Not sure if that's called SAM or something else but would like to know the location for some troubleshooting issues. It's an 00 E430

The front SAM is part of the F1 fuse panel on that car. The ESA module (electric seat adjustment) is under both of the front seats (N32/1 and N32/2).

There are computers all over the car, if you wish info on a diagnostic it would be helpfull to spell out the system you are interested in.

the battery compartment was flooded with water when the rain falled last time. Still trying to figure out how the water got there. The PSE pump was soaked in water. I have it dried out and installed again but the interior lights remain ON regardless of if the doors are shut or not, the trunk opener button in the center console has the red light on at all times, and sometimes the trunk doesnt open with the key or the button. THe blinkers when using the signal flash rapidly as if one of the bulb is fused but the bulbs are ok.

The blinkers come back to normal when i remove the PSE pump. I know the PSE pump is definitely the culprit, but I wanted to know if there are any other computer modules close to the battery that might have been damaged due to the water. Hence my post. If not, perhaps just the PSE pump needs to be changed.

Based on this info I'm guessing the PSE is pulling down the body CAN (CAN B). The relationship between modules on the CAN is described quite nicely in this MB training document: http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdfs/507%20Systems%20I/507%20HO%20CAN%20B%20(ICC)%2010-28-02.pdf

Pay particular attention to pages 47 and 48 as they specifically apply to the 210 chassis.

great document.
where is CAN B located on the w210. I'm assuming now that swapping the PSE pump should correct this. Would any programming required if the new PSE pump is put in place of the old one ? I can buy it myself and install but wanted to know if there's anything special for which I should opt the dealer to install it. More over, is the PSE warrantied ? Will I get any warranty if i let the dealer install it versus if i just plugged/played it myself ?

Read the whole document. The pages I noted apply specifically to 210 and show the central buss connect5ion location X30/7. This is where the individual pairs connect and then are connected by another pair to the front SAM. From the front SAM the connection goes to the EIS (electronic ignition switch) which is the gateway to the powertraing CAN (CAN C). The CAN is a network similar to a network in your office connecting multiple computers. It is just wires with some specific voltage protocols.

The PSE might need version coding I don't remember, but it won't hurt anything to install it even if it needs coding. Warrantee on the part should apply no matter who installs it, although some folk make exception on electronic parts.

In order to evaluate the system the proper way is to enter actual values in the diagnostic program DAS for the EIS. In actual values or maybe activations the status of teh CAN B will be reported and which modules are reporting. If all that is missing is PSE then probably just PSE is the problem. If the whole CAN B is down then no modules would be reporting, windows wouldn't work, seats wouldn't work, etc. At that point one then unplugs modules (starting with PSE in this case) till the CAN B is stable and all modules are reporting.

So before proceeding I would pull the PSE and check that the functions of the other modules are intact. Other modules include DCMs (door control modules), ESAs (seat modules) LCM (lower cont module - the window switch grouping), upper control panel (sunroof and switchs) and maybe others. I think they are listed at least by numer on that diagram in the document on page 48 (I think).
