New blower regulator, leads too short, so what's the correct part #, need help?

2000, 430CLK Cabriolet.

Have received, twice, regulators ordered over the net. Seem to have diff. part #, but look to be identical parts. Both have the lead 2 inches too short--bend the blade connector from the blower, when installed. Original part has 8" lead, new have 6" lead.

Some questions:

1. What is the correct part# ?
2. Anyone encountered this "short lead" prob. re. this part, before, and
3. ...if yes, then what is the solution ?
4. Can I just transfer the old leads to the new unit, and move on with my life, or will my vehicle blow up ?

Swap the old lead with the new one. Problem solved.

Or make your own.

Thanks, but swapped leads long ago. That's not the prob. Prob. is sealed electronic component. Since it is some sort of a thermo unit, and epoxied, no idea of its internal components (resistors/capacitors/etc.). Because leads are not compatible with my application, indicates possiblility that this is the wrong part altogether. I worry that if unit is not the right one, will it damage its sister components, ie. in line blower, cpu, etc., and then I have bigger probs ? So, will my car blow up ? Been a couple of weeks, and ac/heat system seem to be working fine. Likely OK, and time to move on to leak in fuel/vapor recovery system.
