300E vacuum modulator replacement

How to remove the transmission vacuum modulator on 90 300E.

you have to disconnect the trans from the drive shaft, and remove the cross member. unbolt the exhaust manifold from the downpipes so the exhaust will drop down a bit. jack up the engine from only the front post near the distributor cap with an engine hoist so the back of the trans points downward. now just unplug the vacuum tube from the intake manifold, and replace the modulator. it's not a diy job unless you've got some skills. it took my mechanic about 3 hours to do it, and cost me $235, and I supplied him with the new vacuum modulator which cost me $65.
