Mystery Door Locks, 93 300 TE
 

I have a 93 wagon with strange door lock symptoms and I need some ideas on how to trouble shoot. When I lock all doors with the key in drivers door, all lock knobs go down...temporarily. Very often all the locks pop up again after a time delay of from 5 seconds to a few minutes. Sometimes all the knobs stay down and the doors stay locked. My car has some kind of electric vacuum pump on the floor boards of the back seat on the passenger side. Is that the brains of the system and possible cause? Since the locked time varies, am I right to assume this is not a mechanical problem, but an electrical gremlin? Any ideas. :confused: Thanks! Greg

I'm having the same problem. Please let me know if you find a solution. I'm thinking about replacing the vacuum pump, but I'm not sure if that will fix it.
