I just changed my old hood om my 300e to the 95 one. I bought the 95 star for the hood but i cant seem to figure out how to attach it. There kind of mechanism spring to keep it in place.

did you have to update the lights? How much did it cost you total?

I think you put the star in and part of it on the underside twists, but I am not sure.

Thats how it works on the old style grille/hood, so I would think it would work the same way ont he newer style.

hey guy, just recently done this type of upgrade to mine.
You put the star in and there is a u shape metal lock, it turns either way, that is what keep it in there. I done the upgrade tailights also, and the door handles as well, It almost looks like a 95 except for the body side molding.
I just haven't been albe to find some reasonable prices for this stuff, and dealer is just toooo much, about 200.00 a piece and that is 4 pieces on each side. I am also looking into doing the seats, that's what make mine look really old on the inside, not torn or anything just the old design.
Anyway would like to see a picture of what you done, if you could email me one, I would gladly seen you what i done to mine, good luck....

I am in the process of this as well.

So far its going to cost me over a grand. I am getting the whole hood repainted with the u shaped piece and I have a S600 grille on the way, with the polished grille slats ;-)

If I remember correctly, it costs a little over 500 for the parts and about 500 for labor

I also got euro lights and piaa bulbs, i will add the wiper system and 94-95 arms as well.

hey, mine was over a grand, the lights cost me about 300 apice, and the hood and grill. I did all the work myself, as everything bolts up the same. Everyone now thinks it is a 90's model. Congratulations.....

Tx,

did you buy new decals for the back of the car?

Since I did the euro lights hood, clear corners, etc. I also bought a E300 Diesel decals too, this way the car looks like a 95. I might upgrade the rims too in the future.

BTW, where did you get your hood kit from? I am having it sent from Germany and its been over a freakin month and I still havnt go it. If they dont hurry up, I will just get it through someone else.

The price i got was U-shape $225.00
S600 grille $340.00
New star- Free

The differnce between a 92 and a 95 are really not that much, hood, trunk, rims basically.

on a CE like mine, its hood, grille and headlights.

Of course Mbenz can tell the difference just by the front and rear bumpers. hehe I wish I had that good of an eye.

So essentially the cost is roughly $1000 to $1500

Somethign to do later on for me, I just always like to know the costs involved so I know what to aim for.

another way to tell is pop the hood. unless you put the 94-95 headlights on, you can tell a euro light when u see it.

There are the unicolor vs. two tone. then you can tell from teh interior of the car. It would cost a fortune to do a full conversion, but a couple grand seems reasonable to spend.
