oil presure on E320
 
My friend has a 1994 E320. Recently his is oil presure pegs at 3 when driving but at idle goes to 0 then goes back up as soon as he starts to accelerate. Does anyone know what could be causing this. Thanks.

YES I know what this is. I can almost guarantee that it is the oil pressure sending unit. Shouldn't be too expensive. Don't let the dealer or any mechanic talk you into getting a new oil pump!

x2 on the sending unit; likely culprit. you may want to check actual oil pressure with a mechanical gauge just to be safe.
