Just remember that it is 20 years old.
"Most" 20 year old cars don't make GOOD daily drivers. Having a pre-purchase inspection is a very worth-while investment.

I just aquired a 1984 190E for very little money. I have already spent more than I paid for it to fix several of the many problems that it has. I can deal with the other problems as I get some money for parts.
My car is going to be a daily driver. The more I run it, the better it runs!

congratulations... i think you will like your car.
i now have three of the 124's.. i always change power steering filter, air filter, oil filter, oil , transmission fluid and filter, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and coolant the first week i get one.. then, i start going through the inexpensive rubber like idler arm bushings, rear links, shock mounts, engine mounts, and sway bar bushings. i am still working up to valve stem seals. that's my short list on the mechanical side. i always keep a spare OVP, fuel pump relay, serpentine belt, and klima relay in the shop. that's my limited advice on the mechanical side

Early one - single row timing chain, later one- double rows timing chain I also got 87 MB 190E 2.3 8V for $2800 about 4 years ago. Since i owned until today. Need replace center muffler and rear muffler immediately after i bought. Within first year, I replaced A/C dryer, A/C Evaporator, A/C pressure switch and A/C relay to fix up whole A/C system... Hopefully, not leak feron anymore. Then, like mostly normal wear items: Fan Belt Tensioner, belt shocks, front and rear shocks, Fan Belt, Fan Clutch, Wires Set, spark plugs, Cap, Rotor, strut mounts, all 8 rear links (rear wheel), front flex discs, idler arm bushing, steering damper, ball joints, front sway bar bushings, Timing Chain, Valve stem seals, all rubber breather hoses, fuel pressure regular, idle control valve, OVP, radiator cap, heater valve Last month, heater core gone (spent totally 13 hours to replace) Today!!! just replaced 4 rear subframe mounts ( right front one broken). If you really like that car and enjoy DIY. It is excellent car. I like 190E style so much. That why i spent almost $4000 dollars (parts and labour) within 4 years.
