Wiring Diagram SL600 N16/1 module N48 ???

1 Attachment(s)
I am working out the wiring of an 1996 SL600. I am trying to trace all the wires out of the base module (BM) which my wiring diagram refers to as module N16/1. Pin number 8 out of module N16/1 goes to another module N/48, which is called the BAS control module.

What is the N48 BAS control module and more importantly where is it.

In the picture attached the module P/N A018 545 82 32 is the N16/1 Base module. Where is the N48 BAS control module????

BAS is called brake assist. It is often part of the Traction control module, but one should consult a proper diagram to be certain. The best way to do that would be to use the linked drawings at the MB site www.startetkinfo.com

The drawing also are linked to a reasonably accurate star finder which will give a picture of the location of each component.

Thanks for the data. I'm sure I will find it now. I also see Startek now has a 24 hour subsription for $18.00. Sound like a reasonable option for me.

Thank You

I might also point out that the wiring diagrams included on that site are so good that I maintained a subscription monthly for just that reason, until I recently found that the same diagrams are included in the new service manual CD/DVDs MB offers. While the service info is well encripted the "web etms" are easily loaded to hard drives. I have them on the laptop I'm using, unfortunbately I don't have 129 here at home. I do have it at work though.

This web etms folder is absolutely reason enough to purchace the chassis disc for one's own car. As with the online system clicking on each component will bring up a box where one can choose star finder, connector views, legend, and in some instances diagnostics. The diagnostics is a pin by pin explanation of the circuit on that pin. Such as whether it is an input or output and what its intended action is.

Unfortunately, the 220,215,and 230 cars aren't represented, so I buy single day subscriptions when I have anything significant to evaluate with a drawing on those chassis. Simple stuff can be done with drawings from WIS (which are included in Alldata), but after once using the web etms one becomes spoiled as they are infinitely better. Just the fact that they are in color would be enough, but the hot links really finish the issue.

I have them for 129, 140, 163, 164, 170, 202, 203, 208, 210, and 211 chassis cars.

BTW the 124 and 126 chassis cars ETMs are in a pdf folder that is downloadable from the startek site. Unfortunately the locator pictures aren't included and best I have noticed the 124 folder is the same as one would get if buying the print version. In other words the 124 93 on cars aren't included.

The site is not working. At least with me :)

You mean this one: http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/
