Where can I get a spare key made for my '88 260E? Mercedes uses a very unique key blank.

I think that most any MB dealership can make or obtain an extra key for you.

Get the keys made at the dealer. All they need is the VIN # and will deliver you a perfect key that works perfectly. And suprisingly enough it was cheaper to get them at the dealer than a professional locksmith. I went to a locksmith and they tried for an hour and could not make a key that would work in all the locks.

Just purchased a spare key at dealer in Los Angeles. Cost me about $20. On the contrary, lost a key to my Infiniti and due to a special alloy the key is made out of, no locksmith will cut one. Had to go to Infiniti and paid $78.00 for what looks to be a very ordinary key. Count you blessings you own a MB.

A locksmith in NYC made me a perfect set of keys for a 380se for 38 bucks (door and ignition). The door key is the expensive one.
