Good shop manual for 126

Are there any good manuals for the 126 out there? I've got the Haynes for the 123 diesel and it's better than nothing but I can't believe there isn't something available for the 126 specifically.

Maybe the 123 manual is good enough but I seem to recall a few items pertaining to my 300SD that weren't covered.

Thumbs up

The factory service manuals are available, if I had a CD copier I'd send them to you.

I hate to admit it but I bought some CDs from e-bay and they're not too good. Bootlegged crap.

The real deal would be a different story, I imagine.

Order one from the dealer, they are only like $30. All they are, are digital copies of the paper FSM's. Print off whatever you are doing and put it in a binder.

If you want the paper FSM for the W126's Books4cars.com has them, or you can get them on ebay. Figure about $500 for a set for the W126.

$500? Never mind.

Good advice, I'll check out the CDs. I mean the Haynes 123 diesel manual is better than nothing, but some things are different and the Haynes-es (plural) always have gaps.

Useful though. For my Beemer, I've got the Haynes and the Bentley. The Bentley has a lot of good in depth info that the Haynes doesn't but now and then, the Haynes will cover something the Bentley doesn't.

Well $500 is about what a set will cost you, their are a few, off the top of my head:
Engine
Suspension
Body
Climate control
Transmission

Just for my 603 the manual is 400 pages and $180 last I checked.

These are the FSM's the dealer techs use, far more detailed and usefull then the aftermarket stuff. The only downside is they assume you know a lot since they were written for the dealer tech's, that goes for the CD's to.

So your choice is you get them in book version for about $500, or CD version for $30. I bought the CD and never looked back.

It is my understanding that the DB has stopped selling the service CD's for 126's.
