c220 oem pads?
 

Gonna replace pads and rotors on '95 C220. Believe Balo makes the OEM
rotors. Anyone know who makes the OEM pads? Know they give off a
lot of dust but they don't make noise and grip well.

Jurid I think. But don't quote me on that. I just did my C230 and the ones on there were Jurid, and they were from the dealer, but not from the factory (been changed once before by the dealer). I did my friends BMW and the pads were from the factory and they were Jurid also. Some paople also say Pagid is OEM.

On the 202 C-class both Jurid 002-420-21-20 & 002-420-22-20 Pagid are OE compounds.

Ate, Balo, Brembo, & Zimmermann brake discs are ALL aftermarket Quality on that & any MB application before 2000. Mercedes casts their own brake discs.

SOME of the New generation Crossed drilled discs are Brembo...but the Aftermarket ones from Brembo aren't the same quality either!

So are you saying none of the aftermarket discs would be as good as the
one's I get from the stealership? Would these be Mercedes cast discs?

NONE of the aftermarket brake discs are equal to the MB factory!

Zimmermann & Balo in that order are the closest to OE quality. Brembo & Ate are very cheap Italian castings.

I installed OEM rotors and Pagid pads about 4k ago, and the brakes don't seem to be as grabby as they were when I bought it. At that time, it had original rotors and new "MB" pads (61k). I'm also detecting a shimmy when stopping - I NEVER warped a rotor in 90k miles on the OEM rotors, but it feels like that is what I have on the MB-parts dept rotors I just installed. Surely not!

I just installed Balo rotors and ATE pads (that I bought both here) and if anything my braking is improved. Everything smooth. I haven't gone many miles so far though since I have been driving only short trips lately.

I put Pagid on my friends BMW and she has no complaints.
