Lost in a sea of senders on this 190E (1992)

So I am starting a new thread since this problem was mixed in with all the others I have had.
All I want is to return this car to the owner, i have fixed all the issues except for the temp gauge ( not a light). It always reads cold, jumps from time to time. I have heat and cold, no issues with operation
I have been dealing with this and can't find the right daggone sender. The dealer sent me home with one I don't even have on the engine, I saw the diagram and it shows it on the side of the head, but this does not have it.
I have purchased the one on the water pump and have been told that is not it, so which is it, I am posting pictures in hopes someone knows, I am now leaning to the one with the blue top and two poles.
Suggestions, better yet part number
These are what I have found so far
0055421017- he one I donot appear to have or I am not seeing it per the diagram I have
0095426817 - ?
0085424517 - two pole sender of some sort?
The first pic is top of thermostat, the second the sender on the water pump, the third the sender the dealer sold me
HELP

the blue double pole is for the aux fans high speed, the single you have pictured is correct.check the wire inside the plug and make sure is good.

OK SO WHERE THE h### IS IT LOCATED???

I cannot find it:wacky::freak: According to my picture I got from the dealer it should be sticking out of the head on the side near the thermostat - I see a threaded hole but no wire , can there be other locations, some jury rig from the past??
Is it an upgrade to the one on the water pump? It does not look the same

2.3 or 2.6 Engine?

Maybe you can use this diagrams. Item 171 on the 190E 2.6 diagram and item 169 on the 190E 2.3 diagram.

You can see more diagrams at www.performanceproducts4benz.com

I hope this helps.

It is a 2.3
Thanks for the link, I will look again, but I sure don't see it where the diagram indicates

It should look like this...and it goes on the side of the water pump like in your picture.

does not go on the water pump, that is a diffrent sender, too dark by the time I got home tonight, at least the part I have is correct, just gotta find it
Seems like it should be simple but this is a California car and may have some strange west coast emisions crap on it and may be a factor

I give up

I don't usually give up on a project, but this one I did
This car has no sender, I can't find it , it must be a mutant.
I looked and looked, took off stuff and still no sender to be found

I learned something, I do much better with 85 and older MB's, I am just glad I had my 71 to tinker on this weekend. If anyone out there has a 92 190 2.3 and has a sender , take a picture and post
PLEASE make me feel like an idiot:freak:, because the gauge still does not work

The one on the side of the water pump for a 2.3 is AC cut off switch, not sure about position but we know it must be on the engine side of the water system, before the thermostat.

where oh where !:book:
$1.00 to the first one to correctly locate :D
I 'll even throw in an ataboy, or girl:)

I went to another sight and found all the switches but none are clear about the exact posistion sorry JNT

Old thread, i know, but for everyone interested, the gauge sender in a '92 m102 is the third pin on the sensor shown in the first pic.
