It is a single strand Binding type of wire that is commonly used/seen on a Farm. It is used basically fo any type of binding/repairs/holding , etc. It is stiff enough to hold it's position, yet easily bent for the user to configerate at will. Kinda like a small diameter Coat hanger..like for hanging that muffler back up so you can get home before it rips your whole exhaust system off..


Back in the old days [ Before the War] , a common saying was " Spit,bailng wire and chewing gum" would fix her right up..

But today, all three have been technically replaced by Duct Tape..which we all know is used for everything except Ducts..same with dry-wall screws ...

Bailing Wire same as Safety Wire...

Same stuff we used on every "wire secured fastener" I ever replaced.

Not quite ... Most Saftey Wire is Soft SS so it does not rust.. bailing wire is just maluable steel. But they are cousins..
