300SE ABS Safety Question
I recently purchased an 89 300SE for my son. While driving his car I went through a large puddle. After going through the puddle the ABS light came on and remained on. I intentionally slammed on the brakes (road was wet) and I locked up the wheels. I shut the car down and upon restart (< 5 minutes) the light went out. I slammed the brakes on again and the ABS seemed to work. my understanding is that the light will come on when the ABS senses low voltage and shuts down and / or a failure of the ABS. I was diving the car to drop off for my teenage son to drive home so I want to be sure I am understanding the warning correctly. The ABS light does not indicate a problem with the brakes but with the ABS. If the light is out then the ABS is up and running....right??
Thank you, Frank |

Arthur,
Thank you for the confirmation. Frank |
You are welcome

Did I read here somewhere that a bad OVP relay can cause the ABS light to come on sometimes? You might do a search. Sorry, my memory isn't what it used to be.
