1986 420 SEL Climate Control Problem
 

Hello:
I have a 1986 420 SEL which the Climate Control is not working. When the headlights are turned on the control buttons do not light either. The other buttons on the pad do light though. Any suggestions?

Could be a fuse.....have you checked?
Also, do you get any climate control ever? Is it sporadic or is it just not working. Does the fan come on? Can you hear the compressor kick in?
May want to call Ken at Benz Store and get a new push-button control unit to rule out any gremlins in the soldering on the boards. They are about $135 plus core charge.

Put in the new push button control and did not solve problem. I have chnaged the fuse in the box number 16 I believe. Is there others? Also the compressor does not kick in as well is dead all around.
