Have any of you guys tried this method?
Ive seen it done in a local Shell station. What it does is extract the old fluid and inject fresh one while the egine is running. it is connected to the oil cooler by 2 hoses, I guess in and out of the trans. It only took about 15 mins.and 14 qts.of fresh trans. fluid, on a Cad.Catera.The price? $86.00.You think its worth it? Is it safe for my car? Feedback Pls. Clauser1 |
I have had this done at Jiffy Lube about 4 years ago and never had any ill effects to my trans (over 200k). I would do it every once in a while because the trans fliud was really clean after it was done. The thing I didn't like was the filter was not changed during this procedure nor was the pan removed. Your trans cooler gets flushed thoroughly along with the trans lines and such which is good. I believe it is safe.
