Airbag replacement?
Hi,
Thanks for clicking on my posting. I have a 2005 211, I am having to replace the airbags, drivers sided and passenger, seatbelts. Do I need to replace the module or can I reset it using star diagnosis? someone told me that the module can be reset, but someone also told me that the new airbags may deploy again if I do not replace the module??? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mehdi |

The SRS control unit "design" is that after 3 different deployments the control unit must be replaced.
However if you get code B1000 with your scanner it will require replacement.

Re:
Hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply. One 1 deployment has occured, although both the front air bags deployed and 4 seat belts are stuck. In this case is this considered as one incident?? ie the module can be reset??? How about the error B1000?? can I scan this with SDS DAS or any regular scanner will give me the code B1000?? how about resetting it?? is SDS required or can a regular scanner do it. BTW, since you are so experienced on the MB, may I ask you one more question? on a 2001 SLK, the tranmission is not shifting from 1 to any other gear? what could be wrong?? what should I check?? also when the gas pedal is released, a rattling noise is observed from the bottom of the vehicle? any suggestions??? Thanks & Regards Mehdi |
