Softest brake pads?for 300E

changed pads first while waiting for replacement rotors (for marginally acceptable thin discs) to arrive from USA.
Then old thinned -out rotors scored new pads.
Changed new rotors, now scored pads >>>>scored the new soft rotors back, producing a soft kooool noise at slow braking.
I know its better to change pads and rotors together BUT
Would using new unscored pads of the softest kind solve the problem.
Hate to change out newish rotors, besides, they are not anywhere as cheap (in Canada)as from the US,where I am not planning to drive to in the near future.

Would Mintex(Boge),Textar,Pagid,or Jurid,or PBR be the softest pads????

Textar is the OE compound..

Jurid is almost always the "softest" of the compounds..DO not use Pagid as they will make grinding noises on THAT car.

textar works great for us..... it's the only pad we will use.

Ditto!

Note that the softer brake compounds will also produce more brake dust. After trying different brands, I find Textar to be a good compromise between brake dust emission, hardness and longevity.

Btw, I just replaced the front rotors on my W124 last week without changing the pads (which had been replaced five months ago)...

so your complaint is not braking performance but noise?
