W211 with 722.6 have drain plug in Torque Converter?

I have an 02 W211 E240 and was going to to a tranny oil change. Wanted to a how much fluid should I have ready. The WIS info says 7.5li. But I have read that if the torque converter does not have a drain plug it's only 4 liters?

Can anyone verify this please.

If there is no drain plug, how is it possible to change the fluid in the torque converter for DIY? I've seen on the WIS that a pump is used. Is there an after market pump available? I find it useless to change the trans fluid without doing the torque converter and the old and new fluid will just mix.

Thanks!

Francis

If you don't have a torque converter drain (and you probably don't), you can change the pan oil a few times to dilute the old oil that is left.

You can never drain it all in any case, even with a TC drain.

I've heard that disconnecting the oil cooler lines, sending one to a bucket (waste oil), and feeding the other with fresh ATF with the engine running, is an acceptable solution. Obviously this requires careful thought so as not to starve the gearbox, I imagine you would be putting ATF in at the same rate it comes out.
