Oil vicosity
I searched the archives, but didn't get a clear picture. Here is the question and parameters. Since my 2001 E-320 4-Matic 58K miles with documented correct maintenance is always keep in the garage that is heated to 58-62 degrees during the winter, should I continue to run 5w-40 Mobil Syn. It is used every morning. Do I have a valid concern? It's under the StarMark warranty and as long as that remains in effect I will have my indy or the dealer do the change. What do you guys think? Thanks, Dennis

Why not ?
I would stick with it, or whatever else you see on this list: http://www.whnet.com/4x4/oil.html |

D, I'll play devil's advocate since the car is still covered by warranty. They may attempt to deny a warranty claim since the oil you mention does NOT meet the mfr's spec for lube oil. :o |
We can keep this thread short, uberwgn, you make an important point...I'll stick with the 5w/40. Thanks guys! Dennis

What kind of warranty do you have on a 6 year old car?
|
Mercedes StarMark, two year/24K from the MB dealer. The '01 was the last to qualify back in Oct. 06, now the '02 is the least qualified, then the '03 and so on. :D Dennis

Okay, so you shelled out the Big Bucks for the StarMark. :D
