should i stick with only mercedes hydraulic fluid for the suspension or can you use any good quality fluid? the owners manual doesn't seem to specify... just says hydraulic fluid.

Only the Mercedes (made by Bilstein-Febi) fluid should be used. However, it's available, for much less, from sources other than the dealerships.

It's less than $10 per liter at some places

I've run John Deere hyd. fluid in all my cars w/ SLS...been upwards of 5-6 years w/o great results with considerably less cost.

FYI, I do flush my SLS fluid every 2 years...as well as run an extra filter in the reservoir screen (one from a 123 wagon will drop in).
