A160 Main Beam Problem

Hi all, its my first post here and would like to say hello.

i wonder if anyone can help.??

i am having problems with my indicator stalk, whereas the high beam is staying on as soon as the ignition is switched on, with the stalk in low beam.

if you push the stalk towards the column (ie inwards, not back and forth, as there is a little play) the switch acts as normal.

can i repair this easily, or is it a steering wheel off job, as there is no way to get to the switch, or is there?

if it is, how the hell does the wheel come off, as its got the airbag and everything, which seem very well enclosed.

finally, if i need a new switch, can someone point me in the right direction for a reasonably priced one.

many thanks to everyone who replies.

mark

Sounds like the T/S High Beam switch is defective..... The A Class 168 / 169 will require a Long Torx socket to remove the air bag then a Allen bolt that secures the steering wheel ..Also remove the Drivers side Under dash panel The Turn Signal/High Beam switch is secured to the side of the steering column The Dealer would be my guess re the parts..Depends where you are located..As I Buy Most of my Hard to locate (EURO) Parts from Steve @ MBENZNL.com..Great prices Fast shipping

Btw Im Working on getting a AMG 168 A210 here into the states
