These fittings are used all over Mercedes. I have to make custom lines so I need to know what these are called. The particular fitting here is from a power stearing hose on an 86 560SL

It's a flared end, probably an "inverted flare":

Ummm sorry I offered to help. If you know what it isn't, why don't you know what it is?

It's not a flare fitting - I believe it's called a bell fitting, or something along that line....

I'm sorry. I dident mean to be rude. It's just getting a bit frustrating. I know about 5 things that it isn't. But there are about another 5,000 more fittings that it isnt to go through.

Doing a search on bell fitting gives me articles on all the leaks on the Bell/Boeing V-22.

My closest so far looks like a DIN bouble. But all the pictures I find of the DIN bouble are of a much shallower flatter bouble.

They are Ball Swivel/Metric.
..not Live swivel.
Here is a close one, but not metric

That does indeed look close. But the text calls them low pressure applications the hose in the picture I put up was from the power steering box (high Preasure)

But the picture you showed looks exactly like the ones on my transmission cooling lines. Slightly different but will possibly work. In fact I was about to see if I can connect my transmission fitting to my PS box. But who knows they may only consider that fitting low pressure because of it having a barbed fitting on the other end.

I couldent find wher you got the name "Ball Swivel/Metric", but they did mention NPSM.

I have also found similare fittings to this.

DIN L or S ball nose series or DIN 60° Cone. Or BSP, JIS 60° Cone.

One of the problems I'm having is any pictures I get on the web show the fittings with the nuts extended over the flare or cone. The cone fittings mentioned above do appear to be more of a machined finnished tapered cone. Compared to the more spherical specimen I showed in the picture.

I may just have to order a few specimens of each and see which looks best, but I really need the ends that get silver soldered to the steel tube and preferably in stainless.

Thanks
