Has anyone experienced the "noisy fuel pump syndrome"?My 19 85 500SEC fuel pump has always had a "grinding"-type sound which seems to get worse as the temperature increases.I have replaced 2 of them, the last one being a brand new Bosch unit from the dealer (not a re-build), and this one over the last year has begun to do the same thing. I've been told that they have a tendency to become noisy, but I still wonder if I should be checking something else. I change the fuel filters regularly, and have had the fuel tank drained once. Also had to replace the fuel pump relay once (car has almost 200K mi.), but the noise still persists. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, they eventually do this. Replacement has been my only solution. Talk to a speed shop. They can suggest a non-stock replacement that will meet all your requirements and probably be cheaper.
