I want to change the coolant in a 1996 W210 with 104.995 engine (E320). Where is the block drain valve or bolt? Is there a separate valve to purge air from the system upon refill?

Look for the drain plug on the
passenger side of the block about in the middle, underneath the exhaust manifold. You can see it good once you get underneath there. I filled the block/radiator from the thermostat opening prior to putting the thermostat in.

You will want to attach a hose to the nipple of the block drain fitting so the coolant will go where you want it to and not where it wants to. Have fun!
