Mystery object... What is THIS???!!!

I found this under the seat of my sons Mercedes...
I have failed to figure out if it is something that fell off... or a tool that someone left in the car!

Edit:
Its about 6" long and weighs about a pound or so. The black part rivited on is spring steel.

What model Benz???

Doesn't look like a tool. Is it part of the seat adjustment mechanism? See if the other seat has a matching part still attached.

actually looks like the lever form the parking brake assy from under the car near the rear at the end of the cables

My sons car is a 1988 300TE, but I dont think its from the seat.
I found a few things under the same seat, but they were nothing to do with the car.
I think someone put some stuff on the floor and it went under, never to be seen again!
Just trying to figure out what it is!

It's the splitter that connects two parkbrake cables from wheels to one cable from the pedal. See #79.
