Wiper blades on W126
Do I need special wipers for my 1990 300SE? I replaced the Bosch blades (I bought the car used so this is my first replacement) with RainX Weatherbeaters 21, just as listed, but the darn things slip off after about 20 cycles.
There is an accessory attachment but the instructions say the standard J-hook fits 98% of all cars. There is no 'click' sound when I attach the new blades but I slide them on tight. Can't see what else I need to do. Any suggestions? |
I use Trico Teflon. They work great. Search W126 wiper. Lots of info.

Yep, click the "buyparts" tab at the top of this page. Those $50 a set Bosch blades are the only ones I have found that work. They have the clips.

I Bought Bosch From Advance I Think And At First Like You Said They Came Off After About 20 Cycles But I Was Putting Them On Upside Down And After I Got Em Right They Work Fine. THEY WERE NOT 50 DOLLARS EITHER.

Thanks everyone. It turnes out I needed to replace the standard attachment with the J-4. Still alot of pushing and then pulling to get it to click, but it's in solidly.
I recommend installing the attachment to teh J-hook and then snapping in the blade to the lowest semicircle connection. |
