'91 300E Gas Gauge
 

My '91 300E gas gauge isn't accurate: With a full tank it reads slightly below the full mark. The reserve light comes on while there is at least 3 gallons left in the tank.

I pulled the fuel tank sending unit and it seems it is the gauge after making it swing through its range. How are these gauges (if it is the gauge) repaired?
