My roll-bar is a little too high when it is put down which causes the window in the soft-top to touch the roll-bar every time it is put up or down.
I guess that I can re-adjust the height of the resting roll-bar with the two nuts on the cylinder at the right side behind the B pillar.

The nuts I am talking about are the ones that are fastened with red loc-tite just above (behind) the cable gutter. I know I have to order special tools to unscrew these nuts, but does anyone know if I can re-adjust the roll-bar with these nuts at all???

I have never seen this adjusted, but I am aware of the problems with the rear windows on the 129's. We did 2 or 3 of the soft tops and all of them problems with the folding fo the rear window. I think it was a design flaw on the earlier ones.

That must explain the horizontal "smear" that I see on my (recently replaced) rear window when I put the top back up...or am I mistaken?

I have asked several Dutch MB techs as well, but none of them has ever re-adjusted the rollbar on a R129.

G-Benz, I don't know how your rollbar is set (when it is down), but mine is pushed downwards as the rear window of the softtop passes the rollbar (because the rollbar isn't in the absolute down position; I can stick my fingers between the rollbar and the rear interior panels and I can push it down after it is lowered).

I will get myself some tools that fit on these nuts and I will see what re-adjusting the nuts will bring me.

No. Mine is actually flush with the rear interior in the "down" position.

It must be the plastic-to-plastic contact when folded away in the cockpit.

To those who will ever be fighting with a roll-bar that is set too high when it is in its down position and therefore creates the rear screen to become dull...the roll-bar IS adjustable.
The local MB dealer couldn't tell me whether it WAS or WAS NOT adjustable and therefore he could not provide me with the proper tools, so I took out the complete hydraulic part that held the adjustable cylinder:

I loosened the nuts that were tightened with red loc-tite after which I installed the cylinder again and re-adjusted the roll-bar until it was completely down to the position where it belongs.

greetingz,
