SOS from Houston TX area!
I'm a 1985 500SEL trying to take my mistress and her daughter to Mexico for vacation. I broke down on I-10 in Baytown, just 27 miles short of Houston. First, the cruise control started jumping me around, surging ahead and falling back for no logical reason, then after fueling at a typical exit station, I failed to accelerate and began losing power. I had been driven hard for 3 days straight from CT, doing just fine until the last fill-up. Bad gas? Fuel filter, fuel pump? Anyone know of a mechanic in this area who can help? We are stuck at a La Quinta hotel off exit 792 and need help! Thank you!
