1983 380 SEL...regulator roller
Greetings everyone. A few days ago, I attempted to lower my right rear window, it stayed up for a half second or so, then I heard a SNAP, sounded like something broke.
I removed the door panel and found that the regulator and motor still work fine, the plastic regulator roller is what broke. I bought a new one from Fastlane, and when I started to install it, ran into these problems... The regulator arm is bent and twisted, like what might happen if the glass is stuck and power is applied too long on the motor....could it be strong enough to bend the arm? Its over an inch away from the track. The plastic STOP is also misaligned and does not hit/stop like it does on the other door. How do I install the new roller? It looks like a big job to remove the old pin, and install then smash the new one. I am puzzeled and would appreciate any advice.... |

drill out the pin and use a small bolt and lock nut . most of us do it that way .

That sounds like a good idea, thanks for the suggestion.
