Rear wheel bearing??

To change the rear wheel bearing requires either $$$ special tools OR the removal of the complete rear assembly & then pressing out/in the rear wheel flange & bearing.

A new rear hub assembly would cost $800-1000.

A used one would go for $150-200.

Have the bearing replaced..not the assembly

i priced out the actual hub, it was $129, and the bearing kit is like 40$.
my mechanic said it shows 4 hours labour. i guess the only difference is that they have to press the bearing out of the hub.

aside to that do u know if the uglyheadlights on it can b converted to european by just changing the glass? bc i have a set of glass bezels forit, but just the glass not the whole unit.

Sounds like you gat a price for the "wheel flange" not the hub assembly with bearing & flange.

I did this on my 94 E320 - should be the same since the chassis were the same.

See this:

http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/W124RearWheelBearing

It cost me $50 or so to have the bearing pressed in/out once I got the wheel carrier off. The whole job took maybe 6 - 8 hrs, I could do it in half the time now that I know whats going on

Good luck...
