Euro schematic for 94 S500. I note that "pcmaher" also mentions fuse {f3f16} in his response.

Maybe his schem is not the correct one for chassis in question On you schematic, the point of interest is the connector ID for the harness going from NSS to Starter sol. [an X #] That is the connector I am looking for..do you that # and a location?? Tnx |
"pc maher" Response #1 states "The fuse for the cigar lighter (F3f16) in Model 140 vehicles also controls the starter lock-out relay module (K38) as of January 1994 production. If this fuse blows, the vehicle will not start. etc"
I am afraid the schematic I have does not give connector IDs etc, only wire colours and pin numbers and thus violet/white wire from NSS to starter sol is the only info I am able to obtain - sorry. |

His schematic does show the X connectors, but he does not have the starter circuit one posted. I will wait until the orig poster sees where we are at.. Tnx for the research. |
As of 1/94 the k38 feed for circ 15 comes from front fuse box #16 (10 amp)
There is a 10 pin connector x49/2 at left side of console by the area where condensation drain is for a/c.or just behind lower floor duct feed from box. pin 10 vtwht wire from starter lockout switch,pin9 vt circ 50 from k38 lock relay. Tim |
T,
Thanks Which pin is solinoid feed? Tnx |
That connector at side of console pin 10 vtwht comes from neutral sw and feeds the starter thru starter harness connector x27 but cant locate two wire connector. Tim

Ok That is a great help. At least we have the series chain now. The X27 should be somewhere under the hood, probably on the firewall somewhere. Will wait for original poster , Many Thanks |

Very Good .that wil do it,
The terminal for starter soinoid jumper will be terminal # 3 at X27. A 12v test lamp there will confirm K38/NSS with key in Start position. !2 v positive bat jumper to there will confirm starter motor/solinoid. |
S420 - No Crank, No Start
My wife's 1995 S420 would not start (or crank the starter) even though the battery was strong and all the dash lights came on. The door locks, windows, headlamps, etc. all worked OK. I then read the MB manual and tried resetting the alarm, gear shifter, etc. The starter still would not crank.
Unfortunately, I had to call AAA to tow the car home. Using this forum I solved the problem. Thank you "pcmaher" for your observation that the fuse for the cigar lighter (F3f16) in Model 140 vehicles also controls the starter lock-out relay module (K38) as of January 1994 production. If this fuse blows, the vehicle will not start. I noticed that a cell phone car charger had been plugged into the cigar lighter. I then checked the fuse (number 16) and it was blown. I then replaced the fuse and the car started. |
