I'm looking for a reputable source from which to purchase a rebuilt engine for my 69 280SL. My existing block needs replacing, and I'm considering Bud's Benz in Georgia. Suggestions? I'm located in Vancouver, BC.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Steve,
Have you considered a good used motor? Here is a site you might check out.. http://www.mercedesusedparts.com/116-123-126.htm#123a

Hope it helps.

Just got a catalog in the mail from Adsit, and they carry a wide variety of MB longblocks. http://www.adsitco.com

Be careful with Adsit. Read their "warranty policy" very closely and you'll see what I mean. Makes you feel all "warm and fuzzy" just reading something like that.
I don't know if Metrics in CA does those or not, but they were once a good source for good rebuilts. The other choice is to buy a used engine or block and have someone local (that you trust)build it. Atlanta Stutgartt is a good source for used stuff in the SE US. Or you could try Aurora Auto in Seattle,WA.

Randy D.

you could also check http://www.silverstarrecycling.com I think thats the address for parts off wrecked cars and such.

My brother has had good luck with getting some parts for his range rover from their british parts division.
