Nearly bought a C200 Kompressor Sports Coupe today. It had sold by the time I made the decision.
The car was very attractive in Sunstone orange metallic with quartz leather. It had the evolution panorama option pack (hunky alloys, full length sliding glass roof, very cool, sports suspension and all). The interior was very nice indeed (much better for some reason than the W203 classic saloon I commented on in another thread). It also had a 6 speed sequential manual gearbox which I didn't know even existed. Any thoughts on this car or its transmission? |
I just drove a brand C200K Sport Coupe the dealer lend me for two days while fixing one of my cars.
It had the auto transmission with manual gear selection. Excellent transmission, not too crazy about the pick up of the engine though. The manual 6-speed transmission has been standard issue on M.B. cars for the last year. Although, as usual with many M.B. manuals, I hear only negative comments on them. Actually, the dealer has in its lot right now a 2001 C240 with a manual 6-speed with only 3,000 Kms. The owner traded the car in (taking up a big loss $$$) for an automatic because he could not live with the manual. A. Rosich E320T, 1995 S320, 1998 |
