Daughter locked herself out of her 300TE
Has anyone ever been able to accomplish this? As best as I can translate through the tears, she left the keys in the ignition, got out of the car and then when she went to get back in, the doors were locked. She got a cop, he couldn't slim jim it, so he broke (get this) the tailgate window. The absolute, most expensive window on the car. I swear....:mad: I don't want this to happen again, so if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. I thought that the MB central locking was pretty foolproof in the area of locking ones self out.
Thanks, Tom Edit: I just found out that the passenger in the front seat pushed down the lock button as she was exiting the car. This locked all the doors. She then closed the door and the rest was history. Should this be able to happen on a 124 central locking system? |
i think that could easily happen...
you can't push down the driver's lock button.... my son's car has an aftermarket lock and alarm system... his car locks up about 30 seconds after shutting doors regardless. needless to say...keys have been lock in there on occassion.. |
Don't call a cop, call a tow truck driver. Especially a repo guy, some of those guys can get into anything.
Personally I've found 124/201 vintage MB's to be pretty simple to slim jim. Or you can go through the sunroof with a coat hanger. |
