My wife and I are moving to Arizona from Washingto state. We are driving. My wife doen't want to drive alone and neither do I. I want to tow my 1980 300cd with my 1993 Nissan pathfinder V6. Do I need a tow trailer with all of the cars tires off the ground? Or can I use a tow dolly wich lifts only the front tires? I would rather use a dolly if possible. I need to find the total weight of the trailer and my car. I think the maximum tow capacity for the pathfinder is 5000lb. I don't want to wreck my car. Thanks for any help. andy

I was told by my mechanic that the trnsmission of my 76 300d has a rear pump that will operate when towing wit a dolly. Pressure builds up and blows out the rear trans seal. He recomended disconnecting the drive shaft to avoid this.
