Dim LED light?

1996 E320 all of a sudden the outside temp LED light is real dim. You can still see it, but it's real dim. Is this a DYI fix or OEM part purchase?

There's no LED there. That's a LCD panel with an incandescent backlight. There are three white and three red lamps behind the panel; one of your white lamps has burned out. I would recommend replacing all three.

Oh . . . . . LCD . . . . . . goes to show what I know . . . .

I've replaced the lamps behind the guages, but I don't remember about the LCD. I'll look again.

Thanks for correcting me . . . .

There are six bulbs behind the screen. You probably don't need to replace the red bulbs, since these don't light up as often (only when trouble is displayed). The white bulbs are on whenever the car is running.

Now, wait a minute . . . . .

I'm talking about the LCD panel that displays the Temp, mileage, and time. Not the dash lights themselves.

The temp display is dim. Mileage and Time are normal. Is this still a DIY lamp change? Or, is the LCD panel going bad?
