seems like one of swiss car designer/design school guru Franco Sbarro's creations

i knew someone who attended his school and opened up a satellite school in north africa.

recently his business practices have come into question- a google search may bring up some articles about this.

I would recommend staying away from his creations, he has made some wild cars and motorcycles, don't think there's much investment potential and have no ides what the quality is.

good post however, very interesting item

On topic: No I never heard of that

Off topic: I can see why they stopped after 6. Actually I am surprised they made it to 6.

The interior is really bad. What's up with the shifter?

But, to each his own I suppose.

I believe each of these cars are the final production year for that model.

I remember reading about those in the 80s. They were way, way overkill back then, and it's just as hideous today. Rare, yes, beatiful, no.

Is that because they could only find six people in the world who actually thought the car looked good or cool,
or wanted them..?

Looks like an abortion, that just wouldn't die...Make an O.K. parts car for some odds+ends though. A lot of the parts are stock. Like the trunk lid w/light in it, and a lot of interior parts, hood, drivetrain etc.. I don't think I could stand to look at the car, all in one piece, for very long though...'Scuse me, I must vommit........Ok, I'm back...It's only rare because demand was so low though.

Hey, lets crush it with a MOG... I'll buy the Mog, and the car, we'll have the Don, sit in the car, and I'll run over the car with the Mog.. Two birds, one stone.

Looks like the center console was shaved and then they figured out that they couldn't lower the tranny to accommodate it. Looks silly.

Is garish in some respects and ahead of its time in others. Remember it was the 70's, the ME generation.

The seat control location is creative although perhaps not practicable. The grill doesn't fit the design to me and the gull wing doors was a cheap grab at a classic design that fails on that body.

It reminds me of back to the future!

But those seats in black would look nice in a real car.

The seats are the only thing I don't dislike.

The rest of the car... that poor, poor w116. Nobody in their SANE AND RIGHT MIND would pay a penny over $5000 for that. And even someone who did pay $5000 for it for purposes other than archival (or the "WTF" factor) would need their sanity double-checked.

Wow...a 6.9L V8 that only makes 286hp? I know it was a long time ago, but that really opens your eyes. My last gasser was 5.0L with 476hp, dyno-verified. Even managed 25mpg highway!

Cheers, John

I thought that was a Monster Garage Jesse James special!!

Interesting that the VIN number got up to 000118. I wonder what the first 112 looked like?

If it wasn't for the gay ass tri spokes, weird front grill and Lincoln MarkVIII look to it .. it might be a decent bullet catcher
