Windshield Wipers-'94 S500
It rained like crazy here yesterday and, believe it or not, this was the first time I have ever driven this car in the rain since I owned her, (March '07) Anyhow, here's what she's doing, when I stop at a red light\stop sign, so do my wipers! Then when I begin to drive again, it appears that my wipers adjust to my speed. The faster I go, the faster the wipers go!
The slower I go, the slower the wipers go!!![]() Is this normal, or do I have a malfunction? I know some cars have speed sensitive wipers, but I didn't know the Mercedes did, especially in this old of a car. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

I'd consult the owner's manual. If you don't have one, buy one. That's one of the first things I did after getting my car used.
I don't know how far back that feature goes. |

My 92 400SE goes from regular low-speed into intermittent mode automatically when I stop... I don't recall what happens if I have it on high-speed and stop.

Thanks for the replies, they are much appreicated. As for the owner's manual, I do have one on order from the dealership in Jackson, but since they aren't known for their speed, there is no telling when I'll get it. But then again, I can't complain because they aren't charging me for it!!
Bells_77, you may just have a point. When I stop, I don't stay stopped for long and maybe my wipers did go into intermittent mode. I really didn't notice since, like I said, I didn't stay stopped for long. Well, it's supposed to rain again today and I'm going to try out your theroy...in my driveway!! Again, thanks for your replies, they were much appreicated!!
