Self diagnostic code 10
Was just playing around checking for codes after my idle surge problem was solved and I got a code 10 on the self diagnostic box. High/low voltage to the MAF ? Didn't have a CE light on,,,, it just popped the code. Anything to be concerned about ?

A code 10 on DM is usually the product of a HFM code in IGN module..so, go to pin 8

Might be a false code.
Clear it and see what happens. You get a single flash at 8?????

Now I would bring up the HFM single again, wait 2 secs , hold button for 5/6 secs , turn off key for 50 sec , back On for 10 and start car. That will Reset HFM Memory to mean for adapatation . [ Nothing to do w/code retrieve] Then just drive and wait for codes, if any........ I think you already know this , if so, forget I mentioned it...... I would expect that they would have reset to mean after fixing the vac leakage, but maybe they just fiqured it will re-adapt after a few drive cycles anyway .. knowing you were driving around with false intake air all that time, I personally would have immediately reset the memory, for sure. The problem with using drive cycles to reset adaptations is that while the Drive Cycle process is going on, the Diagnostics modules can still be picking up false codes b/c the specs are still out of norm. By resetting manually after a repair/remedy, you don't have this time lapse to contend with .............[ and it only take a min. to do anyway] Last edited by Arthur Dalton; 07-22-2007 at 08:49 PM.
