Hi Steve,
when shifting from D to R or R to D, the rpm will surge over 1500rpm for 1 to 2 secs before engaging back to R. Is this slipage or flairing? It also happened on every disengaging( from D to N or R to N or P)
Can this be rectify by adjusting the modulator or torgue converter?

This is not a tranny issue. It is an idle control issue. Your idle should not need to be held back by the tranny in order to stay below 1000. It should idle at the same speed in or out of gear.

Sounds like poor connections in the idle speed controller.

Gainesville?

Steve:

Just recalled you're in Gainesville.

My daughter's starting this summer at UF, and I'm driving up w/her in my SEL mid-August. I would love to have you do a look-over on my car. How can I arrange that?

Thanks. Bob.
