Basic M103 diagnostics
I've been through the M103 service manual a few times and one sticking point emerges when trying to deal with my '92 190E 2.6, namely what pin on X11 is going to display the diagnostic % information?
This isn't the 38 pin connector, it's the little 11 pin one. Also, There is a little connector near the battery with 15 pins labled, but only 1, 3, 6, 7 and 14 seem to have pins. Maybe I missed it in the manual, but what are they there for? Thx -CTH |
What looks like 15 pins, not counting the LED, is actually the 16 pin diagnostic connector for your car. You can read the fault codes by building the Arthur Dalton fault code reader.

Pin 3 to gournd (pin 2 or engine) will read out duty cycle for the EHA, should be 50% unless yours in one that is supposed to be 70% (that information is in the manual).
however, i find that I must leave the ground lead on my cheapie Sears meter disconnected to read duty cycle, otherwise it just reads garbage. Check for vac leaks (idle control valve hoses, air flow meter horn boot, injector seals and injector holder seals) before adjusting, else it won't get better. Peter |
