Another ABS light question - 96 C220
This car is in pretty good shape although I've been hardly using it this summer. Its just been parked for almost 2 mos now until this weekend. Drove it and noticed ABS light does not turn off. Last thing I did b4 I parked it weeks ago was spray anti-squeal compound on right rear rear rotor. This effectively eliminated the squeal but should not have affected abs
Owners manual says that possible cause of abs light is low voltage to abs. Car was taken on a 2-hour trip, driven around and back 2 hours and no sign of drain. Car is also normally parked during the winter months...but ocassionally started to charge battery and circulate the oil. Any thoughts? Thanks. p.s. also, can power washing the wheels dislodge the sensor? I always power wash my wheels and this is the first time this has happened.... |
If a wheel speed sensor WAS the problem, then the ABS lamp would only come after the car was moving.
Sounds like the ABS lamp stays on all of the time. Have that system scanned for codes, does the brake lamps work?? |
