Light bulb replacement instrument cluster
 

1999 E320 light bulb burnt out between gas gauge and speedometer.
Have instrument cluster removal tools that I have successfully removed clusters in 1984 300d and 1993 300e. They didn't seem to budge this cluster. Didn't want to force it.

Am I missing something?

Also light is out in climate control, how do I get to it?

Will these lamps bring up the "Defective lamp" warning on the warning screen above steering column? I illuminates everytime I turn on lights, yet I can not find any other lights defective.

Some people find it helpful/necessary to push the cluster from behind, at the same time that you're pulling on it.
On the light warning, have you checked the brakelights, licenceplate lights, etc. ?

I had to pull pretty hard to get mine out.

The instrument cluster lamps will not throw the "Defective Lamp" warning, so something else is out.
