Question Regarding Brake Pad Replacement on 2005 C230 Sport Sedan
I am getting ready to service the brakes on my daughter's 2005 C230K Sport sedan. I am wondering if there are any safety issues I have to deal with on this vehicle. I recall reading somewhere that cars equipped with some of these new electronic braking features can activate while you are working on them and the caliper can either knock the piston out, or take a finger off while knocking the piston out and squirting the fluid all over the place. I believe you are supposed to deactivate something, but the owner's manual that comes with the car is silent on the subject. Maybe it is only with the electronic braking system on the W211 E Class? If anyone has any experience and can provide a hint, or a description of the brake pad replacement procedure on this car any help will, as always, be appreciated.
Jim

I'm pretty sure your concerns are not warranted. The potential problem you describe only exists with the dreaded SBC brakes., as far as I know.

You do not have SBC braking on any c-class.
Just like any other caliper-compress away. |
