Fan Clutch Removal 400E
Hi; I have a 92 400E and can not get the bolt holding the fan clutch assembly to break. I believe it removes counterclockwist but have not been able to break it free. Is this the right direction. Thanks for any help.

counter is correct..
did you make the 6mm tool with the proper bend to place behind the clutch plate to hold the fan and clutch? |
I have the clutch stablized and am applying what should be alot more ft lbs than should be needed to loosen the bolt. That's why I am wondering if the bolt is left threaded.(counterclockwise)
Thanks for the help. Brian |
well, i guess i would try liquid wrench next. I don't remember ours being very tough...
we did have the radiator out... used a pipe over the allen to get leverage... |
stabalized it with a long screwdriver....was not tough after that
