Possible E430 fuel pump problem.

When I am driving my E430 it turns off by itself. The car would run for about half an hour when it is cool (the first round than I start the car). After the first round, I have to wait for a while and turn it on and then I can drive it for 10 minutes before it gets shut done by itself again; by the way, it won’t start right away and I have to wait for a while before the next drive. I have been told the problem is the fuel pump. If it’s the fuel pump, can anyone guide me how to change the fuel pump?

A faulty crank position sensor can also cause those symptoms.
Typically, fuel pumps get noisy when the are failing. Is yours noisy?

The K40 relay module can also cause the trouble. I'd try the CPS first, even though the K40 is easier to change. Unless you know that the fuel pump is shutting down before the engine, in which case I'd probably do the K40 first.

I did some research and figured my problem probably is the o-ring under the prefilter or K40 relay; however, I was wondering that the fact that car will run longer when the car is cool, by this I mean when it is running for the first time before it shuts off, would make any suggestion.
BTW, I lost my user manual for E430 99, any idea how can I get one.

1998 E430 Crank position sensor location

Hey SOBY... Where did you find the crank position sensor at on the E430. Did it give you any CEL codes? Mine just cranks.. Does anyone know how to test the fuel pump?
